Why I became an Executive Coach

Why I became an Executive Coach

I have spent my professional life in marketing and sales. My last job was as a Vice President of Marketing and Development, but after almost 5 years, I resigned due to burnout. After leaving my job, I decided to volunteer at my church.

I found a deeper sense of fulfillment when I volunteered at my church, St. Ann Catholic Parish. During my time at the church, a new pastor introduced the leadership team, of which I was a part, to the idea of using Gallup CliftonStrengths® as a way to grow an engaged parish. By identifying parishioners’ individual strengths, parish members could find the best ways to contribute their time, talent, and resources and become more involved in the faith community.

I am a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths® Coach, ICF (International Coaching Federation) Certified, Certified in Charisms and YouScience. I know I am living my Strengths.

Through my involvement in the Strengths movement, I discovered my passion for helping others recognize and utilize their unique talents and strengths. By coaching individuals and leadership teams in businesses, I can help them achieve their full potential and positively impact the world.

On a Personal Note…

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and have always been a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan, no matter where I’ve lived. I’ve been married to my husband, Joe, since 1985 and we live in Dallas, Texas. We both love to travel, but spending time with our children and grandchildren is our favorite thing to do. We also have a sweet Aussie dog named Piper.

In my free time, I love hiking

In the fall of 2022, I solo backpacked and hiked the 800 kilometers (500 miles) Camino de Santiago. I started in St. Jean Pied de Port, France, and finished at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The Camino de Santiago was the most life-changing pilgrimage of all the pilgrimages I’ve ever been on.

I hiked the Way of St. James

In the fall of 2022, I embarked on a 500-mile/800-km journey along the Camino de Santiago, traveling solo. Some hike this path for different reasons, but for me, it was a prayer pilgrimage.

I prayed for my loved ones, friends, and communities every day, offering the rosary and the joys and hardships of the day to God for their intentions.

Although I encountered setbacks, including a fall that required five stitches, the Camino Community was like no other. We shared a deep, profound respect for each other and supported one another all the way to Santiago Compostela, where St. James the Apostle had traveled and where his body was buried.

I share the incredible stories of miracles that occurred during my 40 days in Spain. I realized that my Camino journey did not end when I reached Santiago, Compostela, but that it continued since returning home. A few of these stories you can find on my website blog postings.

The Camino de Santiago taught me that there is a purpose to everything we do and that we can find great strength in Christ, community, and prayer.

Discovering the perfect coach can be a challenge.
